Getting Started
Therapy, Assessments, and Lectures
If you're interested in therapy, an assessment, or a lecture for your school, I aim to make the process as smooth as possible.
Steps
-
Initial Contact: Contact me by completing a contact form on this website and I will respond within 48 hours.
-
Brief Consultation: If needed, I will schedule a short phone call within a week to discuss your needs.
-
Guidance if Necessary: If I am not the right fit, I will help direct you to appropriate resources.
-
Treatment Agreement: If we proceed, I will send a concise treatment agreement outlining the plan, expectations, and costs. For most international insurance companies, you can use this to agreement.
-
Scheduling: Once the agreement is signed, we will schedule our first session—often within a week.
Assessments
A common question I receive is: "Can you do an ADHD or dyslexia assessment?"
-
Short Answer: Yes.
-
Detailed Answer: I conduct assessments only when necessary and appropriate.
Not every difficulty with concentration or literacy requires a full psychodiagnostic evaluation. My goal is to assess children and adolescents only when it is essential to understanding their needs and providing meaningful support.
Assessment Process
-
Intake Meeting: Includes a developmental history review and basic behavioral screening instruments.
-
Determining Need: Based on initial findings, we decide together whether further, more detailed assessments are required.
-
Needs-Based Approach: This follows the Dutch handelingsgerichte diagnostiek model, ensuring assessments lead to practical, actionable strategies for support.
